Portals
are being leveraged in almost every organization in one method or
another. From the simplest web page with common forms, benefits
information and policies to sophisticated applications that aggregate
information from throughout the enterprise. The problem today is that
very few organizations are reaping rewards from their portal
implementations. Instead most enterprises find themselves dealing with
multiple portals that compete for the same resources and audiences and,
in some cases, prevent each other from achieving success. RGS believes
that an enterprise portal must be planned and architected from the
ground up as a piece of the infrastructure rather than as an
application. By spending the time and resources to determine the
business drivers for the portal up front before purchasing or
programming begins the organization can avoid the "empty portal" that
has plagued so many organizations.
RGS has developed re-usable templates and processes to assist our
client in identifying the key aspects necessary to develop and deploy a
successful implementation across hundreds or thousands of users.
