RGS Awarded $2M Consulting Contract to Support NAVSEA Strategic HR Program

Arlington, VA
December 1, 2006

RGS Associates, Inc., a leading provider of consulting services to federal government agencies, today announces the award of a strategic consulting and program support task under the Navy's Seaport Multiple Award Contract (MAC).  The Task has a 15 month period of performance that is valued at approximately $2 million. Under the contract, RGS and their partner Logistics Management Institute (LMI) will provide strategic support services to assist the front office of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to implement a transformational program for human capital management across the 50,000 person civilian staff. The initiative is know as Competency Alignment and is aimed to produce greater situational awareness of the Command's priorities, increase NAVSEA's flexibility to marshal and deploy resources across the Command, and reduce the number and extent of inefficient and ineffective acquisition outcomes.  Competency Alignment is the instrument with which the Command is changing the way that it manages and executes the nine competencies required to accomplish its mission.

Under the contract, RGS and LMI will provide consulting and program support to develop competency staffing plans, metrics, phase-in plans, operating policies and procedures, and competency-wide business rules.

"RGS is very proud to have been selected by NAVSEA for this very important effort," said Tom McMahon, RGS President. "Based on our 22 years of experience supporting programs at NAVSEA, we are confident we can provide tremendous value for this customer." The project will be managed within RGS' Navy Systems Commands practice out of their Arlington, Virginia location.
