RGS Awarded Chief Of Naval Operations Logistics Contract

Arlington, Va.
October 15, 2004

RGS Associates, Inc. of Arlington, Va. announced today that it has been awarded the first year of a multi-year contract worth more than $6 million to support the Chief of Naval Operations Logistics Office in the integration of naval logistics resources and the use of those resources to dramatically improve effectiveness and lower the costs of logistics business processes. RGS will provide specific support for the design, development, and implementation of reengineered logistics business processes and the integration of commercial best practices within the Department of the Navy.

The competitively awarded contract is for one base year and four one-year options to provide assistance in logistics transformation. As the Navy reshapes its logistics infrastructure and strategy to improve afloat and ashore readiness and streamline logistics processes and planning, it must integrate logistics functions, promote and share innovative solutions that anticipate changing requirements, effectively incorporate technological advances, and establish a structure to institutionalize and support the strategic planning and management process.

Dan Deakin, Vice President of RGS said, "The Chief of Naval Operations has outlined an aggressive change management strategy to assist in the recapitalization of the Navy. The stage is set for implementing an end-to-end resource management transformation that reaches from the forward deployed forces directly to support entities that provide the resources needed to sustain operations and operational readiness. We are honored to be selected as part of the team transforming the way the Navy operates today and into the future."
